Now You Can Buy Elvis Presley’s Luxury Jets

For those Elvis aficionados who’d like to own something more substantial than a pair of blue suede shoes, a very important auction is coming up: Presley’s two luxury jets, the “Lisa Marie” (named for his daughter) and the “Hound Dog II” are expected to fetch between $10 and $15 million, according to California-based Julien’s Auctions.

Presley bought both jets in 1975, two years before his death, and spent more than the cost of the Lisa Marie refurbishing it with a bar, videotape system, conference room and deluxe sleeping quarters.

Though the planes are privately owned, they’ve been housed on the Graceland campus in Memphis, Tenn. for the last three decades. The buyer will have the option to purchase land on the site as a continued home for the jets, which are no longer airworthy.

Reaching for that checkbook? As the King would say, it’s now or never.
