
Sales of diet sodas are still flagging in the US, with unit sales down 8% in October compared to the year before, but energy drink sales continue to grow, according to new data.
Diet Pepsi fared worse than Diet Coke, with an 11% unit sales drop in the most recent four-week period, compared to 2014, while Diet Coke dropped just over 6% according to Neilsen information, Food Navigator reports. Regular carbonated drinks sold a little better, with unit sales down under 2% and dollar sales slightly up.

By contrast, bottled water and ready-to-drink coffee unit sales have soared, up 7% and 12% respectively in the last four week period. Energy drinks are also selling well, with a 6% increase over last year.
