Mount Soputan, a volcano in eastern Indonesia, erupted this week for the second time in the past several months.
The volcano emitted lava and plumes of smoke on Nov. 3-18, 2015, according to the Smithsonian Institute. It then spewed hot ashes as high as 4 miles starting Monday evening local time, Chinese state media Xinhua reported.
Locals and visitors did not need to evacuate and no one was hurt. However authorities warned those nearby not to enter a 2 1/2-mile radius surrounding the crater.
